BANKSY (1974), based on - Lot 166

BANKSY (1974), based on Wrong war "Bomb Hugger Red and black spray paint and stencil on cardboard. Bearing a "Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament", "Don't Attack Iraq" and "Stop the war" sticker on the front. 86 x 63 cm (worn) NB: Banksy created a number of different signs for the 2003 London demonstration against the war in Iraq, but few originals have survived as they were either thrown into the street or confiscated by the Metropolitan Police. There's no way of knowing, but there were very few for the demonstrations in the first place. The Studio distributed the boxes to the artist's friends who participated in the anti-war march in 2003, to create a viral presence at the march. *Sold by designation
