DEGAS - DANSEUSE EN BRONZE
Edgar DEGAS (1834-1917)
Dancer, large arabesque, second time
Bronze
Signed on the terrace, founder's stamp Valsuani.
Stamped with the letter N
Edition of 29 numbered copies
44 x 65 x 33 cm
Work registered in the archives of the Edgard Degas Committee.
Note: From the 1860s onwards, Degas followed the dancers as they rehearsed, close to the limelight and even backstage.
Always faithful to aesthetics, the artist favors unusual moments over monotonous symmetry.
All these works earned the artist worldwide recognition for having sculpted, in all its beauty, the art of movement, which can be appreciated here in its most remarkable form.
