Igala style statue - Lot 52
Igala style statue
Nigeria
Wood
64 x 15 cm
Presenting a female figure sitting on a circular stool. The ovoid face offers features in high relief: almond-shaped eyes, straight nose, mouth with pursed lips. The conical breasts and the arms are free of the body. Above the face, the crested hairstyle falls back on the nape of the neck. A brown crusty patina covers the whole figure.
