Pair of male-female alusi statues in wood and pigments. The - Lot 51
Pair of male-female alusi statues in wood and pigments. The faces, supported by cylindrical necks, present a visored forehead overhanging stretched and slit eyes. The noses are busted, the mouths, with thick black lips, open on white teeth. The hairstyles, consisting of two large twisted braids, are similar for both figures. The male figure has a slight bulge at the neck, subtly representing an Adam's apple. The right arms are delicately freed from the body, framing the cylindrical and bulbous busts. The palms of the hands are turned over. The wrists and ankles are adorned with multi-row bracelets, indicating the high status of these figures.
